Celebrating 40 Years in payroll
Dataplan have now been in the payroll business for 40 years.
Starting out as a one man business form Tom Allen's front room in late 1968 Dataplan has had a few owners.
Its big break came in 1972 when Dataplan Computer Bureau started processing payroll for dockers at the ports in Grimsby.
Changing hands again in 1974 the business was bought by Orbit and managed by John Lamb
In 1989 the business was aquired by Grimsby based accountants Forrester Boyd as an extra service to provide their clients. Initially, operating from Hainton Avenue the payroll operations moved to Victoria Street before finally moving to Forrester Boyd's office in South Saint Mary's Gate.
Richard Rowell, a partner at Forrester Boyd, took over the reigns at Dataplan in 1989 and with the appointment of Stewart Waddell as bureau manger in 2006 Dataplan started to grow rapidly.
The mixture of flexibility in what we offer and a personal service is very attractive to our customers and we have seen 300% growth in the last 5 years alone.
From humble beginnings we now have apprximately 600 customers spread across the UK from Cornwall to Aberdeen.
