How has Dataplan changed since you joined?

In the short amount of time I have been at Dataplan it has changed quite a bit. Dataplan is expanding; taking on new payroll customers and employing the best payroll professionals to look after these customers. They are always working on making the Dataplan systems better with new updates to make sure the payrolls are processed efficiently which means lots of change, but for the better.

What’s the best thing about working in payroll?

The best thing with working in the payroll industry the sense of achievement you get after a busy month. Working alongside and being trained up by the most amazing team even when the months are the busiest such as September and April. We always work our hardest to ensure that our clients are paid on time so we do not let our clients down, we promise to provide amazing service and I love being part of the team that delivers that.

And the worst?

The worse thing for myself would be that we are working with incredibly sensitive information at Dataplan therefor when employees ring I am unable to give out any information regarding their issue they are calling about. We have no way to prove who they say they are, over the phone, so I am unable to give out information in case it was given out to the incorrect people.

If you could have anyone on your payroll, whom would it be?

If I could have anyone on my payroll it would be Jeff Bezos the president of amazon, also known as the richest man in the world. Imagine the sense of achievement you would feel knowing that you are the reason this man is being paid what he is for processing his payroll!

What do you think payroll will be like in 50 years’ time?

The world of payroll is always changing and improving but it’s hard to imagine what payroll will be like in 50 years with all the advanced technology and the data protection services we are using now. But I can only imagine that it will all be extremely high tech - much harder to make errors and much easier to resolve them.

What is your worst food?

As bad as I feel to admit it, as it is such a food favourite to others, but I am in the small minority that dislikes lasagne. I cannot bring myself to like it as much as I try too. Strangely enough I love pasta bolognaise though.

What do you think of HMRC?

Personally I do not have any dealings with HMRC at the moment within my job role. I can see from my peer’s reaction to them, however, that their sense of urgency is sometimes lacking.

Who or what makes you laugh?

Any movie, television series or videos with Adam Sandler in. He is absolutely hilarious. My favourite movie of his has to be either Grown-Ups or Big Daddy

Your most used phrase?

My most used phrase is definitely “Sorry due to not being an authorised contact I will not be able to put you through to the processor”.

What is your biggest work challenge?

My biggest challenge at Dataplan would be making sure the coffee machine is always clean and in action for my colleagues. This is important because our payroll teams seem to run off coffee.
