The policy landscape relating to childcare is changing. Indeed – with effect from April 2018, childcare vouchers are closing to new joiners.

However, this is not the full picture. New, tax free childcare plans act essentially as a substitute for vouchers and can be obtained by parents independently of payroll. Rules surrounding childcare mean that the new plans cannot be used in conjunction with vouchers – the position is effectively ‘either/or’.

One thing that the changing policy landscape on childcare does not affect is that HMRC thresholds apply to CVs. Once these thresholds are reached, P11Ds and Class 1A NICs kick into effect.

At Dataplan, we have the software – together with the specialist knowledge – to ensure that HMRC requirements in this area are met in full. Fast-changing policy landscapes can inflate the risk of non-compliance; at Dataplan, we pride ourselves on the speed with which we grasp what’s changing and what’s remaining the same, ensuring that your organisation complies with all it needs to.
