From finishing my last A-level exam on Friday 24th June and starting at Dataplan as a Payroll Administration apprentice on the following Monday, I definitely feel like I have entered the proper world!

Working for a company who deal with a very vital expertise has opened my eyes to the challenges I will face following finishing college. I worked part time throughout my final school and college years which made me realise that I wanted to start my career in a busy, thriving work place and Dataplan provided just that!

My application to Dataplan resulted in my new role as a Payroll Administrative Assistant apprentice. Through completing this apprenticeship I will get to experience the administrative side to the business and develop into payroll training. The company are providing me with a fully funded apprenticeship which allows me to gain qualifications through challenging and rewarding work.

Following my first few weeks at Dataplan, I have been able to learn several new and challenging skills which are already helping me to progress within the company and develop my skill set. My team and colleagues are very helpful, welcoming and have amazing patience with me! Eager to learn, I have non-stop been firing my questions left, right and centre! I am given support when needed but also encouraged in my own learning and development. Working in payroll definitely requires a wider, more advanced skill set than expected but I’m loving the challenges. Despite being one of the youngest here everyone makes me feel included and treats me no differently to others.

Dataplan provides their employees with brilliant progression paths which hopefully I will embark on, after completing my first year here as an apprentice. I am confident I will grow with the company as they offer me development within work and personal progression. The past few weeks have been extremely enjoyable and make me look forward to a career within this rewarding company.
