Yes, it’s that time of year again – time to celebrate the profession that Dataplan Payroll is so proud to practice and represent. It’s time for National Payroll Week 2017 #npw17

For too long, payroll was an often overlooked discipline. Indeed, there was a time when it was seen merely as an add-on to accountancy, despite all of the rigours and complexity that payroll entails – and the attention to detail that accurate payroll processing demands.

Thankfully, this has all begun to change radically over the last few years, down not least to the work of the CIPP and others in promoting payroll as a vitally important area in its own right. With an ever-changing legislative landscape in areas such as pensions and taxation – we payroll professionals have to constantly adapt our work and it is good to see this finally being recognised.

To NPW 2017, Dataplan has a wide range of enjoyable staff events planned – from an office BBQ, to a dress down day and other charity fund-raising initiatives. It’s a chance to raise money for great causes – as well as to reflect on the fact that payroll really does matter.
