In the simplest case that requires the simplest payroll solution, a business keeps the same set of employees for the full financial year. Nobody new comes in or leaves at either turn of the financial year or in between, everyone is full time with the same tax rate. Nobody takes unpaid leave or maternity leave and their PAYE is as simple as it can possibly be. Of course, it's pretty hard to find a business where that happens and reality is usually much messier for the average company. Even our basic payroll solutions can handle that, and so can most other payroll processing services companies.
However, there are a lot of cases which are far more complex. Recruitment firms are a good example. The staff they need to pay are often temporary and short term. Turnover is very high and the incoming and outgoing Revenue and Customs forms flow thick and fast. Rates of pay and tax codes vary across the board and payment is often made frequently. This sort of business requires a high-powered payroll solution.
Because the circumstances of each employee are so changeable and staff turnover so high, that payroll solution also needs to be adaptable. The company needs us to respond to changes promptly and without errors, and we're one of a much smaller pool of payroll outsourcing services that can do that with confidence.
