At Dataplan with think our payroll service sits firmly in the "just right" Goldilocks zone.

Choosing a large payroll provider can leave you feeling cold. For large national and global providers providing payroll is a process to be systemised. Deadlines and processes are dictated.

The whole business model seems to revolve around processing large numbers of employees as cheaply as possible and often offshoring their own teams. Personal care and attention are secondary to making profits and you may never speak to the same person twice.

At the other end of the scale are smaller businesses, often accountants with a small payroll bureau operation or even independent bookkeepers with a sideline in payroll. These payroll providers often leave customers a little hot under the collar or certainly nervous. Relationships are great but many don't have the resources in place to train adequately and holiday / sickness cover. Often these small payroll providers rely on the simple processing afforded by Sage without the payroll expertise and don't have.

At Dataplan we think we are just right. We've been in the business 45 years and are owned by accountancy Forrester Boyd so fundamentally understand delivering profession services to a high standard. On average each of our 45 staff have 11 years experience in payroll. We are lead development partner with our payroll software provider, Mitrefinch, ensuring our software is always current and up to speed with industry developments. We hold the ISO9001:2008 quality management systems accreditation and the Chartered Institute if Payroll Professionals PQP award demonstrating commitment to excellence, quality and developing our people.

And in 2013 we were awarded the industry's prestigious Service Payroll Provider of The Year Award.

If you are having a bad experience with a "too big national player" or a "too small provider" and would like to find out how "just right" feels from a payroll services provider please get in touch for a chat.
