Being April time we always pick up a significant number of new clients ready for the start of the new tax year.

Unusually, we have hearing a number of negative stories over service provided by and the treatment of customers using payroll outsourcing services this year.

As a Chartered Certified Accountant, working in practice it worries me that the payroll outsourcing industry is largely unregulated. How can our customers have the confidence that as an industry we will provide to our customers

  • An appropriate level of service
  • With sufficient expertise
  • At a fair and reasonable rate

What I'd like to see is a robust voluntary code of conduct that payroll providers can subscribe to, showing their commitment to providing quality services at fair rates.
