At Dataplan, the training opportunities we offer are rich and plentiful. We pride ourselves on investing in individual progression and I personally have benefited from this in invaluable ways.

For school leavers and other young people, we offer a rigorous apprenticeship programme, which acts as a fantastic introduction to all things payroll and, indeed, the world of work more generally.

Another training opportunity that we provide is the Payroll Technician Certificate, a course run by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals. This equips learners with a varied overview of payroll processing and the many, intricate aspects of this discipline. As a successful student of this course, I can say that I found the experience of undertaking it highly rewarding – and, indeed, beneficial on a day-to-day basis.

Further elements of the Dataplan staff development agenda include the chance to study for a foundation degree in payroll development – as well as pensions-based qualifications. I myself am coming to the end of my studies for a Certificate in Pensions. With its intensive essay demands – together with a written examination – studying for this qualification in conjunction with working full-time has occasionally been challenging. However, I have relished the challenge and really valued the opportunity to further my technical knowledge of an increasingly complex area.

For anyone looking to grow themselves and their knowledge of payroll, pensions and HR – a career at Dataplan is the right choice. To join our band of payroll heroes, please send your CV and a covering letter to recruitment@dataplan.co.uk
